About this event

Join Anthony for this four-part series where he'll be inviting writers to explore, write and develop their own short stories while considering vital elements such as structure, plot, character, detail and dialogue!

The short story is no easy option when it comes to writing. Throughout this course, participants will look at ways to generate ideas by using photos and paintings, writing prompts, writing games and character profiles before you examine a wide variety of published short stories to explore what you can learn from them.

You'll be guided through exercises that will give you the opportunity to focus on writing your short story in a pressure-free environment, and there will be time to share your work and receive feedback from your peers. Anthony will also encourage participants to consider the editing process, including discussion about the different ways to draft and edit your work.

Throughout this course, you will...
Appreciate the art of the short story
Explore ways to write, develop and edit short stories.
Read a variety of short stories in order to develop a breadth of understanding and appreciate techniques used
Learn how to share work and offer good advice
Have fun and meet people with similar interests in writing.
