About this event

In the lead up to publication of his new book, Another Peak, Alex Staniforth joins us to celebrate World Book Night with an inspirational talk about his experiences of overcoming adversity using outdoor experiences. Alex aims to educate others and inspire hope that mental illness is no barrier to achievement, particularly for men suffering with mental health issues.

We will have copies of Mad Girl by Bryony Gordon and The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion to give away too!

It's sure to be an evening of positivity and hope so book your free place by emailing enquiryline@nottinghamcity.gov.uk, visit the Central Library reception or phone 0115 9152825

PLUS: Following on from this event the fantastic team at Nottingham’s Open Door project have kindly offered to lead a walk for wellbeing around the Arboretum Park on Saturday 27 April 11am – approx 1pm. It’s a chance to experience the benefits of light exercise and have a chat along the way. Find out about other walking groups locally too.

We’ll meet up at the Waverley Street park gates next to the café then take a relaxed walk around the park. No need to book and everyone is welcome
