About this event

In this workshop, Chris McLoughlin will lead poets through a series of writing exercises, designed to find a poet’s voice, write from their core, and begin an exploration into what they might explore next in their poetry.

Chris McLoughlin is a Spoken Word Artist, Writer and Workshop Facilitator. His poetry focuses primarily on mental health, creating safe environments for others to explore emotional difficulties.

Chris has received a Distinction in MA Creative Writing from the University of Nottingham, been Artistic Director of Mouthy Poets, was longlisted for Outspoken’s Prize for Poetry, and was a finalist for Nottingham's first Young Poet Laureate. Chris is one half of comedy band Chateaux Rouge, runs the monthly community workshop Write The Poem with Anne Holloway, and his first acting gig was shaving his hair off to feature for three seconds in a Rizzle Kicks music video. He’s still waiting for his Bafta for the role of ‘Young Thug #3’.

Entry to this workshop is £5 and includes a copy of Chris' new collection Lose Your Armour.
