Join us for 2-hours of writing activities, exercises and prompts designed to help you generate interesting, original story ideas!

About this event

At this fun, interactive session participants will take part in and explore a variety of exercises, activities and prompts to create interesting, original stories!

Join writer Patsy Collins and discover multiple ways to find writing ideas, learning how to expand these into plots/outlines for stories and other pieces of writing. Participants will also learn how to use themes and prompts, such as those used for competitions to create original stories!

There will be opportunities to try out the different techniques explored and to receive encouraging feedback. Participants will gain several different outlines to work on after the workshop, as well as the knowledge and confidence to generate many more.

To take part in the session, you will need some A4 paper, a couple of different pens handy, as well as a notebook!

About Patsy Collins
Patsy Collins has had hundreds of short stories published, mainly in women's magazines. She has written six novels, articles for Writing Magazine and won or been placed in numerous competitions. She also produced A Year of Ideas: 365 sets of writing prompts and exercises. She runs a blog for writers, facilitates workshops and gives talks about her writing.

This workshop will be delivered online via Zoom. Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing service you can use to virtually meet with others - either by video or audio-only or both. A link will be sent out shortly before the workshop starts to the email address you enter at the time of booking.
