Young Voices

MyVoice is a project to encourage young people to share their voices. We launched a city-wide creative writing competition in September 2019, which saw nearly 200 entries. 20 young people were selected to be published in an anthology, titled Speak Up. Young Voices is splinter of this project. This was a series of creative writing workshops for Year Six pupils, teachers, and Youth Justice Service teams. Workshops took place throughout January and February 2020, facilitated by a team of six experienced professional writers. Schools around Nottingham and Nottinghamshire took part to develop the confidence and writing skills of their students. The participants of both the MyVoice and Young Voices projects were celebrated in an online event, 'Virtual MyVoice', in April 2020.
