Trevor Wright

Trevor Wright is a poet and playwright with a strong connection to the Nottingham area.

About Trevor

Trevor was born in Bulwell, works part time in social care and is the Co-Director of InSight Autism, a Nottingham base Community Interest Company providing autism support to organisations. He started writing in his 50's and his first poetry collection, Outsider Heart, was published by Nottingham's Big White Shed in 2016. He is a member of DIY Poets collective and a regular contributor to poetry events in Nottingham. He has worked with Andrew Graves on Local and Vocal, a WEM sponsored project connecting inter-generational voices in Ashfield and Mansfield. He has appeared at the Southwell and Derby Folk Festivals and Nottingham and Gloucester Poetry Festivals. His Poem 'Yalla' from Over Land Over Sea, Poems for these Seeking Refuge (Five Leaves 2015) has been translate into nine languages, BSL and been performed in dance and contemporary music versions. His next collection, Salt Flow, will be published by BWS in October 2018.
