Rowena Edlin-White

Rowena specialises in women's history and forgotten authors - especially local Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ones. Her book, Exploring Nottinghamshire Writers, is due out from Five Leaves in October 2017.

About Rowena

Rowena was born in Nottingham in 1948 to a couple of penniless actors. She trained at Manchester School of Theatre and spent 15 years acting in repertory, TV and community theatre; she was, briefly, a magician's assistant!

Since 1982, she has written, edited and published in several genres: children's literature, anthologies, poetry, biography and a series of how-to books for hand-spinners and dyers.

She completed her PhD on the American writer, Kate Douglas Wiggin, in 2004 and still edit a small journal about her.

Rowena is available to speak at all kinds of groups, festivals and conferences on a number of subjects.
