Phil Nodding

Phil Nodding writes for TV and radio. He is a member of the Writers Guild of GB, BAFTA and an assessor for Skillset, the sector skills agency for media and fashion.

About Phil

After graduating with an MA in Scriptwriting (De Montford University), Phil was invited by Paul Abbott to write for series 2 of SHAMELESS (Channel 4/Company Pictures). 

He went on to write for SHAMELESS series 3 and then for Kay Mellor’s BBC1 series THE CHASE before developing a number of original TV drama, radio and feature film ideas including a romantic comedy LOVE RADIO, a conspiracy thriller RUNNER and a WW2 drama WAITING FOR JOHN WAYNE

In 2008 Phil was selected for the BBC’s Radio and TV Drama Residential workshop where he developed a writing partnership with Steve Chambers. Steve and Phil co-wrote the successful Radio 4 comedy drama HIGH-LITES about a misanthropic hairdresser. 

The show was originally an afternoon play and then developed as a long running 5-part series that has run for 6 years. A TV pilot version of the show has been commissioned by Hat Trick. Phil has also co-created RAVEN, a thriller (with Line Langebeck) under option to Island Pictures.
