Leanne Moden is a poet and performer, originally from Norfolk but now based in Nottingham.

About Leanne

Leanne started writing in 2010, and is now a feature at events and festivals around the UK, including recent sets at the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival, Beverley Folk Festival and Bestival on the Isle of Wight. She’s also competed in loads of national poetry slams, and performed everywhere from schools and community centres, to Cambridge University and even the Royal Albert Hall!

Leanne is co-founder of the ‘28 Sonnets Later’ sonnet-writing collective, and hosts the ‘Crosswords’ spoken word open mic nights in Nottingham.

She also facilitates writing workshops and organises poetry events around the country.

Leanne was Fenland Poet Laureate in 2013, and her most recent pamphlet, ‘Liaisons’, was published by Stewed Rhubarb Press in 2015.

She's currently working with Writing East Midlands as Shadow Writer in Residence for the Write Here: Sanctuary project, an initiative that seeks to support refugees, asylum seekers and migrant workers through creative writing opportunities and workshops.
