About Katie,

What book do you wish everyone would read and why?

More Than This by Patrick Ness. Throughout the whole book you are kept on your toes, constantly grasping for answers, leaving you thinking is there more than this? Even by the end of the book you are still left questioning, it can make your mind race! It is definitely a book you can read twice, having two different reading experiences…don’t put it down after your first read!

Who are your favourite authors?

As a child, I loved Michael Morpurgo! Nowadays, it really ranges depending what mood I am in: from Heather Morris and Markus Zusak to Stephen Chbosky and John Green.

Where is your favourite place to read?

Anywhere in nature, whether it is by a lake in summer or somewhere hidden among autumn leaves, almost anytime you can hear a chorus of life around you.

What do you love most about Nottingham?

Wollaton Park! And all year round at that: it is bustling in summer, full of vibrant oranges in Autumn and gorgeous when it snows…you might even spot some deer! It really is the perfect space to escape for a bit.

What career or industry do you hope to get into?

Any branch within the writing industry: editing, publishing, journalism etc. I love exploring texts, so working with and writing about them would be an ideal future for me.
