Ian Douglas

Ian Douglas is a Nottingham-based writer who writes for children and adults.

About Ian

Ian set his sights on a writer’s life as a child, but it was not until his thirties that he plucked up the courage to share his writing. This led onto two years in journalism.  He graduated with Distinction from the Creative Writing MA at NTU. His first published book was The Children’s History of Nottinghamshire. The book’s success encouraged him to start the History Roadshow, running history and writing workshops at local schools. Ian is the author of the Zeke Hailey novels for young adults, a sci-fi series set on Mars. His latest project is a non-fiction book for the Houses of Parliament. Some of his sci-fi short stories have won prizes and he reviews for the Left Lion. Ian leads workshops on creative writing for fantasy and sci-fi. He is a veteran member of the Writers Studio. Ian lives in Sneinton with his wife and children.
