About Dhikshana

Dhikshana Pering is currently the Young People’s Producer for Brent London Borough of Culture 2020. This project will build a cultural programme with the aim of exploring the stories, art and emotions that hold life in Brent together, uncovering and celebrating the borough's untold tales and unheard voices. Dhikshana is working alongside the Brent Blueprint Collective, a network of young people who are ensuring that the young voices of the borough are central to the programme.

Dhikshana has a background in museum and gallery education and a broad experience of the heritage industry. Previously, she has managed the Arts Council funded Young People’s Skills Programme at the London Transport Museum, including their award-winning Apprenticeship programme. She has managed the national and international Outreach team at the Science Museum, and she is an elected Trustee for the Museums Association, where she is currently focusing on their review of cultural education across the nations.

Dhikshana is an expert in leading successful learning and outreach teams and in developing programmes designed to engage young people. She will be sharing her insight into youth-engagement initiatives during her keynote speech at our Heritage Learning Symposium, titled 'Youth: it’s on their side'.
