On Monday 1 December, 7.30pm, we will be hosting the Nottingham City of Literature Big Birthday Bash in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University, at the Metronome, Nottingham, NG1 1AP.
Join us, as we take a look at ten years as a UNESCO City of Literature and celebrate our past, present and future with the glittering creatives of Nottingham. There will be poetry. There will be cake.
The lineup includes some of the city’s most exciting voices, from Jay Sandhu and Georgina Wilding to screenwriter William Ivory and Cara Thompson, Nottingham’s very own Nature Poet Laureate. It concludes with the drawing of a charity raffle of generously donated items from Nottinghamshire businesses including a selection of hampers from Boots.
As we look ahead to the next 10 years, we are also using this vital moment to raise funds to support our flagship Big City Reads campaign in 2026 – our biannual summer reading programme. Big City Reads gives away over 2,000 free books across the City, particularly in areas of deprivation, where young people have limited access to books of their own.
