Celebrate the Sky Mirror's birthday with a chance to win some fantastic prizes

The Sky Mirror has over the years become an icon of a creative city, a true Nottingham landmark. The Anish Kapoor parabolic mirror has sat in front of Nottingham Playhouse, turning the universe upside down and giving an alternate perspective on the world. It celebrates its twentieth birthday today, so what better way to celebrate than launching a fantastic competition for all budding writers out there?

We want YOU to send in writing - poetry, non-fiction, short story - inspired by the Sky Mirror. We have some fantastic prizes including theatre tickets and book tokens on offer for our favourites. Not sure where to start? Then use these as jumping-off points:

  • Imagine going through the Sky Mirror, where do you find yourself?”
  • Looking into the Sky Mirror you’re surprised to see….
  • How does the Sky Mirror reflect your city?”
  • Anything you feel inspired to write!

We have some great judges lined up, including Stephen Lowe, whose play Touched debuted at the Playhouse in 1977, with Vicky McClure heading up the cast for its return to the theatre in 2017. Further details on judges and the prizes on offer will be announced shortly.
