The Youth Advisory Board is made up of a group of 16 – 25-year-olds who will meet bi-monthly to share ideas, review feedback and try and instigate positive change and exciting ideas within Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature.

What is it?

Our Youth Board gives you the opportunity to be involved in wider decision-making of our creative programmes, and to get your ideas heard on how Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature can better appeal to you, your friends and young people in general. We hope to establish an approachable and supportive youth board, who bring fresh and innovative ideas,

This is YOUR opportunity to make sure young people are at the heart of Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature.

What’s in it for me?

As a member of our youth advisory board, you will get:

• £50 book voucher to spend at Five Leaves or Page 45 Bookshop in Nottingham

• An opportunity to undertake an Arts Award

• Insight to the international UNESCO Cities of Literature Network

• The chance to decide what creative programmes we run

• FREE tickets for yourself and a friend to our performances and workshops

• The chance to meet professional writers and poets

• Advice on how to get into creative careers, get published, and network locally

Your responsibilities

• Attendance at the meetings in Feb, April, June, Sept and Dec 2021. Some of these meetings will be optional and others will be mandatory.

• Support and plan Youth Advisory Board events and activities.

• Be committed and punctual when attending meetings.

• Have awesome ideas on how Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature can be better for young people.
