Interested in being a Nottingham City of Literature trustee?

Fri 7 Jul, 2017

Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature (NUCoL) is seeking to appoint new Trustees to help us identify and exploit new opportunities, as well as the ability to support the new Director to take NUCoL to the next stage of its development.

If you would relish such a challenge and share our commitment to building Nottingham’s UNESCO designation and contribution as a sustainable creative, economic and social force for good on a local, national and international stage, particularly in challenging economic and political times, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

Under the leadership of the Chair, David Belbin, and Director, Sandeep Mahal, the organisation has a new strategy, mission and vision. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to make their mark in one of the UNESCO Creative Cities at a time of significant development. Of equal importance to us is finding trustees who share our ambition, our excitement, and our desire to build a better world with words.

In these new appointments, we are seeking candidates who will have:

  • A strong commitment to the power of UNESCO’s brand in boosting Nottingham’s tourism and profile on the international stage
  • A commitment and passion to improving literacy and growing audiences for live literature in Nottingham
  • Excellent networking, advocacy and ambassadorial skills
  • The ability to contribute strategically to NUCoL’s next three years, opening doors that might generate new funding and income streams

These voluntary roles will require a time commitment equivalent to at least 2 to 3 days per quarter.

This is a great opportunity for you to put your considerable skills to use and play an important role in the future of Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature.

To find out more about the role, please download the Information Pack via the link below and email or with your expression of interest by the closing date: 30th August 2017.
